Pune Thief Arrested: Samarth Police Seize Ten Stolen Two-Wheelers

Pune, 6th August 2024: In Pune, a man stole a bike and sold it to pay off a loan. The Samarth Police have arrested the thief and seized ten two-wheelers from him. The investigation revealed that the stolen bikes were sold in Daund taluka.

The arrested thief has been identified as Arvind Motiram Chavan (age 39, resident of Daund). Chavan had stolen a two-wheeler from Somwar Peth area a few days ago, leading to a case being registered at Samarth Police Station.

The police reviewed footage from 70 to 80 CCTV cameras in the area and began tracking the thief. On Monday, while patrolling Peth, Police Personnel Sharad Ghorpade spotted Chavan. When approached and interrogated, Chavan fled. The police pursued and apprehended him.

During interrogation, Chavan confessed to stealing a two-wheeler from the Pune Station and Somwar Peth areas to repay the loan. He admitted that the stolen bikes were sold in Daund taluka. The investigation revealed that he had stolen ten bikes from Bund Garden and Samarth Police Station limits.
