Pune: Teen Gang Arrested and Paraded for Talegaon Dabhade Shooting Rampage

Talegaon, 24th June 2024: On Thursday evening (20th June), a group of six individuals opened fire at four different locations in Talegaon Dabhade town, allegedly intending to create terror. Pimpri Chinchwad police promptly detained these accused and paraded them through the Talegaon area.

The arrested individuals are identified as Rohan alias Chikya Uttam Shinde (18 years old, residing at Katvi Road, Talegaon Station), Neeraj alias Dadya Babu Pawar (19 years old, residing at Nehru Nagar, Pimpri), Aditya Nitin Bhoinallu (21 years old, residing at Kamathipura, Shirur), Vicky Kharade, and two minors.

According to police, Chikya Shinde and his accomplices allegedly shouted abuses, proclaiming, “We are ‘bhai’ here, don’t mess with us,” before opening fire at Gajanan Chowk, Shala Chowk, Rajendra Chowk, and Maruti Mandir Chowk in Talegaon Dabhade town. The motive behind the shooting was to create panic among the residents.

The shootings were captured by CCTV cameras installed in roadside shops, exacerbating fear among the local populace. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate’s (PCPC) Anti-Gunda squad detained the main accused, Rohan Shinde, Neeraj Pawar, and Aditya Bhoinallu, in Nashik during a parallel investigation. Talegaon police later arrested the remaining three accused. Upon production before the Vadgaon court, the court remanded all six suspects to police custody for seven days.

During the investigation, police seized three country-made pistols and eight live cartridges. This evening, all the accused were paraded through the Talegaon area in handcuffs, marking a visible response to the terror they created through their actions.
