Pune: Teen Driver in Wakad Car Crash Stirs Controversy, Echoes Kalyani Nagar Porsche Case

Wakad, 30th May 2024: A person’s car was hit by another vehicle while it was parked outside their residence in Thergaon, Pimpri Chinchwad. According to the police complaint, the driver of the car that caused the crash was a minor, aged less than 17. This incident occurred at 3:30 AM on 29th May 2024, in Chakradhar Colony, Thergaon.

Deepak Laxman Devne (age 43, resident of Chakradhar Colony, Thergaon) filed a complaint with the Wakad Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad police. The suspect in this case is a 17-year-old minor who is not legally allowed to drive.

Devne had parked his Volkswagen Polo car outside his residence. At 3:30 AM, a car crashed into his parked vehicle, causing significant damage to the bumper, trunk, right-side rear door, right-side rear light, and other parts. The owner of the car that collided with Devne’s vehicle is refusing to pay for the damages.

Devne alleges that the car was driven by a 17-year-old boy who crashed into his vehicle. It is rumoured that the boy belongs to an influential family, and there was pressure on the Pimpri Chinchwad police not to pursue the case.

Similarly, on 19th May, a 17-year-old boy, the son of a Pune-based builder, tragically killed two IT professionals while driving drunk. His Porsche crashed into a bike at high speed. This case has unearthed a slew of issues, including kidnapping, evidence tampering, criminal intimidation, and the attempted interference of various politicians in the investigation. A connection is being drawn between this case and the Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident.
