Pune Techie Dies By Suicide Due To Harassment By Manager

Bopodi, 23rd July 2024: A young man took his own life by jumping into a river in Bopodi after receiving threats of job termination. A case has been filed against a private company manager for allegedly abetting the suicide.

The victim has been identified as Vishal Pramod Salvi. The accused, Zeeshan Haider, a manager at the private company, faces charges of abetment to suicide. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, came to light following a complaint by Salvi’s sister, Preeti Amit Kamble (42), a resident of Pimple Gurav, at the Khadki Police Station.

According to the police, Vishal was employed at a company in Yerawada, where Zeeshan Haider was the manager. The complaint alleges that Vishal faced frequent humiliation in front of his colleagues and was threatened with job termination. Vishal, who had recently been demoted, was reportedly depressed and ultimately decided to end his life by jumping into a river in Bopodi on Sunday. Before his death, Vishal shared a letter and a photo of Zeeshan Haider on social media.

Preeti’s complaint states that the note left by Vishal indicated that his suicide was a result of the harassment and threats of dismissal from job.

Police are further investigating the case.
