Pune: Teacher Arrested After 19 Female Students Report Abuse

Paud, 6th September 2024: A teacher from a school in Andgaon, Mulshi taluka, has been arrested on charges of molesting 19 female students.

The teacher has been nabbed by Paud police station, Pune rural police, following serious allegations of misconduct.

The arrest comes after the school management was informed of his inappropriate behavior, which included the use of obscene language and physical abuse of students during lessons. On Thursday, an executive committee from the managing organization visited the school to investigate the complaints.

During the inquiry, 19 female students provided written statements detailing a disturbing pattern of behavior by the accused teacher. The allegations include:
Writing obscene words on the classroom board.
Engaging in inappropriate physical contact, including hugging a blindfolded student.
Making unwanted advances, whispering in students’ ears, and physically hitting or touching them.
Using physical violence against students who resisted his advances.
The severity of the complaints led to a formal report being filed with the police. The teacher was subsequently arrested and a case has been registered against him at the Paud police station.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations. The school is also taking measures to support the affected students and address the situation appropriately.
