Pune, 11th December 2023: In a significant development, the enshrinement of Lord Rama is scheduled to take place on 22nd January 2024, even as the construction of the Shri Rama temple in Ayodhya is expected to continue for another three years.

Swami Govinddev Giri, the Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, provided details to reporters on Sunday, assuring devotees that the darshan of Lord Rama would not be hindered during the ongoing construction.

Swami Govinddev Giri shared that the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is progressing rapidly. The crucial work for the sanctum sanctorum, the first floor, and the Pranapratistha (installation ceremony) of Lord Rama is anticipated to be completed by the end of December. However, he noted that the overall construction would continue for an additional three years.

The ongoing construction encompasses the addition of two more floors to the temple, along with the construction of six temples within the temple premises and seven outside. Despite the extended timeline for completion, Swami Govinddev Giri assured that arrangements would be made for devotees to have darshan of Lord Rama during this period.

Responding to queries about the timing coinciding with the Lok Sabha elections and the political discourse around the Ram temple, Swami Govinddev Giri clarified that their focus is purely devotional. He emphasized that the goal is to expedite the process of bringing Lord Rama, who has resided in a cloth tent for many years, to the newly constructed temple premises.
