Pune: Suryaksh Scores Big Upset To Move Into Boys Singles Semifinal At Junior International Grand Prix Badminton Tournament

Pune, 30th August 2024:  Qualifier Suryaksh Rawat showed great form and variation in his game as he knocked out second seed Denis Azzary of Indonesia 21-9, 21-11 to enter the Boys singles semifinals at the  Late Sushant Chipalkatti Yonex Sunrise India Junior International Grand Prix Badminton Tournament organized by Poona District Metropolitan Badminton Association sponsored by Yonex Sunise and co-sponsored by Ultra Corpotech Private Limited under the auspices of BWF, BA, BAI and MBA to be played at the P. E. Society’s Modern PDMBA Sports Complex, Shivajinagar.

In other upsets Chinese Taipei’s Chiang Tzu Chieh seeded sixth upset fourth seeded Rounak Chouhan 21-19, 16-21, 21-15 , while qualifier Maharishiel Timotius Gain of Indonesia upset 11th seeded Yan Shu Wang  of Chinese Taipei 21-11, 21-14 to enter the boys semifinal

Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan of Indonesia ,Tanvi Reddy Andluri, Prashansa Bonamand, Surya Charisma Tamir all of India made it to the last four In the girls singles

In a major upset in the Mixed Doubles event fifth seeded Indian pair of Bhavya Chhabra and Taarini Suri upset the top seeded Thai pair of Attawut Sreepeaw and  Pannawee Polyiam 21-19, 17-21, 21-12 and move into the next round
