Pune, 21st October 2021: The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari instructed to change the design of the flyover to be constructed on Sinhgad road and build a two-storey flyover there.

Accordingly, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started survey for this. The structure made by the corporation and other information has been provided to the concerned consultant.

If there is no increase in cost and the structure is appropriate, changes will be accepted as per the proposal, the administration said.

A flyover will be constructed from Rajaram Bridge to Funtime Theater to ease traffic congestion on Sinhgad Road.

It is possible to plan for a double-deck flyover and metro on this road. Using this technology will reduce the number of pillars. This work will be done at a cost of Rs 135 crore. Therefore, the civic body has approached the consulting company suggested by Gadkari to change the design of the flyover.

The company has been provided with the current plan of the corporation, alignment of the metro and other information. It is also being noted that the width of the flyover will not be reduced while reducing the number of pillars after the proposal is submitted to the Municipal Corporation by this consulting company. A final decision on the change will then be made, officials said.
