Pune: Supriya Sule Condemns Sassoon Hospital’s Report in Tanisha Bhise’s Death Case, Demands Justice

Pune, 19th April 2025: Nationalist Congress Party – Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) MP Supriya Sule has strongly criticised the recent committee report by Sassoon Hospital on the death of pregnant woman Tanisha Bhise at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, accusing it of attempting to give the hospital a clean chit. Sule expressed deep outrage over the report and called for it to be destroyed, emphasising the gravity of the loss to Bhise’s family and the insensitivity of the findings.
Speaking to the media, Supriya Sule said, “I cannot believe such a report could come out. I commend Prashant Jagtap for deciding to take this matter to court. I condemn the report. It should be burned, not just thrown in the trash. Someone’s daughter, a mother of children, has been lost. How can such a flawed report be accepted? It is shocking and insensitive. We will not accept this report. Until justice is served for that mother, we will not rest.”
The death of Tanisha Bhise, who died after allegedly being denied timely treatment during childbirth, sparked widespread outrage across Maharashtra. Sule has repeatedly called for strict action against the hospital and the doctors involved. She visited the Bhise family and demanded immediate accountability, stating, “This was not just a death but a murder caused by negligence. Those responsible must be punished within 24 hours.”
Sule also highlighted the hospital’s failure to pay pending property taxes amounting to crores, questioning why the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has not taken action against such a prominent institution. She demanded transparency and sensitivity from the hospital administration, stating, “No matter how much apology the hospital offers, their guilt remains. The victim was someone’s mother, sister, wife, or daughter. Is there any humanity left in the hospital or society?”
