Pune Students Win ‘MANTHAN HACKATHON 2021’

Pune, 30th December 2021: ‘Disguise Fortips’, a team of GH Raisoni College of Engineering and Management Pune (GHRCEM), secured the first position in MANTHAN HACKATHON 2021, organized by MOE (Ministry of Education’s INNOVATION CELL), AICTE along with BPR&D (Bureau of Police Research & Development).

The Hackathon was conducted recently, in online mode. The students from GHRCEM Pune won first prize in the PS 20 category, which was “Submission of real and anonymous tip offs”.

The grand prize includes Cash Prize Rs 1 Lakh, Internship Opportunities, Start-up Seed fund up to 10 Lakh, Opportunity to showcase the product at National level, to be part of upcoming International Hackathon. The competition’s team included Om Khade, Saurav Kumar Pandey, Prasad Choulwar, and Astha Kashyap. The team’s mentors were Prof. Rachna Sable and Prof. Pankaj Khambre. The students were felicitated and congratulated by Sunil Raisoni (Chairman, Raisoni Group), Shreyas Raisoni (Executive Director, Raisoni Group), and Dr. R. D. Kharadkar (Campus Director, Raisoni Group) on their wonderful achievement.

This unique initiative was to identify innovative concepts and technology solutions for addressing the security challenges of the 21st century faced by our intelligence agencies. The Hackathon was executed into 5 phases and each phase focused on evaluation and interaction between teams. Participants were expected to develop digital solutions under 6 themes for 20 different challenge statements using new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Augmented reality, Machine Learning, etc. for ever-changing security related challenges, which include photo/video analysis, Fake Content Identification along with the information of creator, predictive Cyber Crime data analytics, etc.
