Pune: Student Seriously Injured by Falling Tree Branch, Parents Appeal For Help

Karvenagar, 28th July 2024: A 22-year-old student was severely injured when a tree branch fell on his head while he was walking in front of Madhuban Society in Karvenagar. The incident occurred on Thursday, July 25, at around 5 PM. The injured student, Prasad Raghuvir Vakshe, is currently receiving treatment at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital.

Prasad, a native of Vakshewadi in Aatpadi taluka of Sangli district, is a first-year MA student at Fergusson College and was also preparing for competitive exams. The accident happened as Prasad was returning home after having dinner with a friend. Heavy rains had lashed Pune on Wednesday and Thursday, and it was during this period that the branch fell on Prasad, causing severe injuries, including brain trauma and multiple facial fractures.

Passersby immediately removed the broken branch and rushed Prasad to the hospital. His parents, who are farmers, have appealed for assistance from the administration due to the gravity of his condition.
