Pune, 10th December 2023: The minimum temperature in the Maharashtra state is anticipated to remain steady over the next two days. A slight rise in minimum temperature is expected during this period as the brisk influx of steamy winds from the south gains momentum, while the influence of cold winds from the north weakens. The Meteorological Department foresees a halt in the recent trend of decreasing minimum temperatures.

Over the past four days, there has been a rapid decline in minimum temperatures across most parts of the state. With an average drop of two to four degrees Celsius, a noticeable chill permeated the air. The diminishing influence of cold winds from the north is cited as the cause for this temperature decrease. Presently, the flow of cold air from the north has subsided. Additionally, the emergence of steamy winds from the South or South-East has led to the formation of cloudy weather in select regions of South Konkan, South Maharashtra, and Madhya Maharashtra.

The rise in humidity due to the influx of steamy winds is likely to contribute to a slight increase in the minimum temperature. Despite the expectation of dry weather prevailing across the state, the minimum temperature is not anticipated to experience a further drop. The Weather Department has indicated that the temperature will remain stable in the coming days.
