Pune: ST Bus Trips Cancelled Due To Lack Of Diesel; Confusion Arises At Swargate Depot
Pune, 12th October 2022: Due to the non-availability of diesel, various buses departing from Swargate ST depot had to be cancelled today. Passengers had to suffer because of this. This situation arose due to non-payment of dues by the pump operator who provided diesel for ST buses.
Diesel is provided for ST buses through private petrol pump operators. The amount of diesel is collected from the ST Corporation monthly. Before leaving for various routes as usual on Wednesday, when ST drivers took the buses to fill up with diesel at a petrol pump close to the station, contracted by ST, they were told that diesel was not available.
The passengers entered the station in time for the buses. However, as there was no diesel, the drivers parked the buses again. Passengers had to suffer because buses were not available on time for the journey.
Passengers inquired about this in the station, but they did not receive a proper answer. It was said that the petrol pump operator refused diesel due to non-payment of diesel dues. Due to this, the schedule of buses in the station was disrupted throughout the day.
