Pune: ST Bus Overturns in Attempt to Avoid Bike Rider, One Dead
Purandar, 7th April 2023: An incident has come to light where an ST bus, while attempting to save a two-wheeler rider, went out of control and overturned on a sand pile on the roadside. In the accident, the bike rider died after being hit by the ST. The incident occurred near the Zendewadi RTO corner.
The bus was carrying 29 passengers at the time of the accident. Fortunately, no one on the bus was injured. However, due to the ongoing Pune-Pandharpur Palkhi road work, roads in some areas have been dug up.
Further details indicate that the ST Corporation bus was heading from Pune towards Saswad at Zendewadi in Purandar taluka. A collision occurred between the ST bus and the bike rider, following which the bus driver attempted to steer the vehicle to the other side to avoid hitting the two-wheeler. Unfortunately, this caused the bus to overturn.
All passengers on the bus were evacuated safely by local citizens, as the speed of the bus was slow and none of the passengers was seriously injured. However, the bike rider died on the spot and the second person on the two-wheeler was seriously injured and has been transported to a hospital in Pune. The police arrived at the scene following the incident, and further action is currently underway.
