Pune: ST Bus Hits Divider in Wagholi, 10 Passengers Injured

Wagholi, 2nd June 2024: A Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus met with an accident near Perne Phata on Pune-Ahmednagar highway, injuring several passengers and seriously injuring the driver.

 

The incident occurred when the bus, traveling from Pathardi to Mumbai, experienced a sudden mechanical failure near the Akshara Special Misal and Bhel shop. The steering rod of the bus became loose, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to collide with a divider.

 

In the accident, the driver sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Additionally, 8 to 10 passengers, including the conductor, suffered minor injuries. They were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

 

Following the incident, the bus was towed by a crane to clear the road. Traffic flow resumed smoothly, thanks to the prompt response of Lonikand police station night patrol officers, marshals, and traffic police staff, who were present at the scene.
