Pune: Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan ODI in MCA Stadium Gahunje: PMPML Offers Special Bus Service for Cricket Enthusiasts

Pune, 29th October 2023: In anticipation of the Sri Lanka vs. Afghanistan ODI match in the Cricket World Cup 2023, scheduled for Monday, October 30th, at MCA Stadium Gahunje, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has arranged special bus services for cricket enthusiasts.

This encounter marks the second cricket match of the day in Pune, with approximately 600 cricket lovers travelling to witness the previous game, thereby contributing to PMPML’s earnings of around 50 thousand rupees.

PMPML has initiated these special bus services to facilitate cricket fans’ access to Gahunje Stadium, where a total of five matches of the International One Day Cricket World Cup 2023 will be hosted. The next match features Sri Lanka and Afghanistan and is set to take place on Monday, November 30th.

In addition to this match, Gahunje Stadium will host cricket matches on November 1st, 8th, and 11th as well. Buses are scheduled to depart from Nigdi Tilak Chowk bus station at 12 noon and 12.30 pm, and on November 11th, additional buses will be available at 8.30 am and 9 am. The ticket cost for this convenient transport option will be Rs.50 for each way, with a return ticket included.

PMPML has ensured that buses are provided from three key locations in Pune: Pune Municipal Bhavan, Katraj, and Nigdi Tilak Chowk Bus Station. In response to the growing demand, the PMPML administration has indicated that additional buses will be organized from all three bus stations as required. Based on the positive response from the last match, plans have been set in motion to ensure that cricket enthusiasts have accessible transportation. During the previous match, about 600 passengers availed of the bus service, leading to a revenue of approximately 48 to 50 thousand rupees for PMPML.
