Pune: Speeding Truck Kills Two College Students in Kharadi Accident
Kharadi, 28th May 2024: A tragic accident occurred at Kharadi Zakat Naka on Pune-Ahmednagar Road late last night when a speeding truck crushed a two-wheeler, resulting in the deaths of two college students and injuries to a third. The accident took place around 10.30 PM, according to the police.
The victims, originally from Latur, were currently studying in Wagholi. Police identified the truck driver as Shyambabu Ramphal Gautam. Gautam was driving towards Chandannagar with his truck when he collided with the stationary motorcycle at the traffic signal at Zakat Naka.
The collision caused the three people on the motorcycle to be thrown from the vehicle. Two of the students died on the spot, while the third was injured and taken to the hospital. One of the deceased has been identified as Adil Sheikh; the identities of the other two victims are yet to be confirmed.

The police detained Gautam on the spot and took him to Sassoon Hospital for a medical examination. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
