Pune: Speeding Car Claims Life of 7-Year-Old Boy on Dighi Alandi Road
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 11th August 2023: A horrifying incident unfolded on Dighi Alandi Road in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area, as a speeding car plowed into pedestrians, claiming the life of a seven-year-old boy.
The victim, Partha Pranav Bhosale, was grievously struck and dragged by the reckless motorist for a shocking distance of 700 to 800 meters.
The heart-wrenching episode resulted in the loss of young Partha’s life and inflicted serious injuries upon his mother, who was accompanying him on a scooty. The incident transpired around 10 pm yesterday while they were en route from Charholi Chowk to Dighi. The duo was on the service road when a speeding vehicle collided with them, leading to the catastrophic outcome.
The Dighi Police swiftly took action, detaining the 40-year-old motorist, identified as Rahul Tapkir, in connection with the incident. Initial investigations revealed that the accused, Rahul Tapkir, allegedly struck Partha and his mother with his speeding car, causing Partha’s mother to fall to the ground and Partha to become trapped beneath the vehicle. The young boy was tragically dragged a significant distance, ultimately succumbing to his severe injuries.
The community’s outrage was palpable, and the enraged citizens collectively reprimanded the intoxicated Rahul Tapkir for his actions before handing him over to the Dighi Police.
Police Inspector Pandit provided insight into the ongoing investigation, stating that Rahul Tapkir has been apprehended by the Dighi Police. Preliminary information indicates that Rahul may have been involved in other altercations prior to the incident, prompting authorities to explore this angle further.
