Pune: Special Auditor of Co-operative Department Bhavsar Caught Taking Rs 30,000 Bribe

Pune, January 27, 2021: The sleuths from the Pune unit of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) today caught Special Auditor of Co-operative Department Lalit Kumar Bhavsar for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.

Based on the complaint from a lawyer, an FIR has been registered against Bhavsar (55) at Bundgarden police station for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to ACB, the complainant is on the panel of auditors. The accused had allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 bribe for not removing his name from the panel. After negotiation, the amount was brought down to Rs 30,000.

The ACB officials laid a trap today caught Bhavsar while accepting the bribe amount. DySP Varsharani Patil is further investigating the case.

The action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (Pune range) Rajesh Bansode and Additional SP Suraj Gurav.
