Pune: Someshwar Foundation and Krida Jagruti to organise Public Felicitation Paris Olympians from state and Olmpic Medalist Kusale
Pune, 29th August 2024: Paris Olympic bronze medalist shooter Swapnil Kusale, international archers and Paris Olympians Pravin Jadhav and Sarvesh Kushare, world championship gold medalist archers Aditi Swami and Ojas Deotale, world champion Mallakhamb player Shubhankar Khawle, shooting coach Deepali Deshpande, Aditi and Ojas’ coach Pravin Sawant, and Mallakhamb coach Abhijit Bhosale will be among the notable awardees to be felicitated by Someshwar Foundation and Krida Jagruti on the occasion of National Sports Day.
Former Indian hockey captain and Arjuna and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee Dhanraj Pillay, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol, Maharashtra’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil, CEO of Elevate Edge Consulting Group Praveen Patil, and industrialist Punit Balan will honor the athletes from Maharashtra who brought pride to the state by winning medals at the Paris Olympics, as well as those who achieved success in global competitions. The public function will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 9:00 am at Bal Gandharva Rangmandir.
Veteran sports journalists Vinayak Dalvi, Suhas Joshi, and Sharad Kadrekar will also be felicitated on this occasion. Sunny Nimhan, President of Someshwar Foundation and Chief Organizer of the event, stated, “It is a matter of great pride for us to organize this event to honor these athletes who have brought glory to our country.”
The other organizers of the event, Krida Jagruti President Pratap Jadhav, Gaurav Samiti Secretary Sandeep Chavan, and Rajendra Ghule, expressed their special happiness in honoring the coaches who played a significant role in the athletes’ achievements. They also appealed to Punekars to attend the ceremony in large numbers and encourage the athletes.
Pune BJP city president Dheeraj Ghate, Pune city Congress president Arvind Shinde, NCP city president Deepak Mankar, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Prashant Jagtap, Shiv Sena city chief Pramod Bhangire, Shiv Sena (UBT) city chief Gajanan Tharkude, MNS city president Sainath Babar, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay More, Aam Aadmi Party’s Sudarshan Jagdale and Dhananjay Benkar, and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s Advocate Arvind Tayde will represent various political parties at this ceremony.
