Pune: Slight Price Rise In Vegetables And Fruits

Pune, 23 August 2021: Compared to last week, this year the supply of vegetables and fruits reduced at the market committees pushing the vegetable prices. However, the prices of onion, potatoes and garlic remained constant while other vegetables saw a price rise of 10 to 20 percent.

The rains in various parts of the state from last few days resulted in less supply which pushed the price hike. “Pune Market yard had only 80 to 90 vehicles”, said Market association head Vilas Bhujbal.

He said, “from Madhya Pradesh we received five to six tempos of carrots, from Gujurat and Karnataka we received only five tempos of cabbage, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu eight truck of garlic, Agra, Indore, Gujurat and local we received 40 track potatoes.
While from local areas 800 bags of ginger, five to six tempos of cabbage, eight tempos of flower, five to six tempos ladies fingers, 10 to 12 tomatoes, 3 to 4 tempos of chillies, green-peas 500 to 600 bags, one thousand bags of groundnuts and 60 to 65 truck of onion.
