Pune: Six Dacoits Target Policeman’s Home, Injure Constable During Robbery
Chakan, 14th October 2024: A shocking incident of dacoits targeting the house of a policeman in Khed Taluka, Pune District, has come to light. Six dacoits attempted to commit a robbery by breaking into the home of a police constable in the early hours of yesterday. While trying to fend them off, the police constable, stationed with Pimpri Chinchwad Police, sustained injuries.
The police constable, identified as Aniket Pandit Daundkar (25), a resident of Shel Pimpalgaon, reported the incident to Chakan Police Station. A case has been registered against six dacoits under BNS Sections 310(2) (dacoity) and 311 (robbery or dacoity with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt).
According to police reports, the dacoits carried out an armed robbery at Aniket Daundkar’s house, forcibly stealing a gold mangalsutra weighing 17 grams worth Rs 42,500, and a gold ring weighing 5 grams worth Rs 12,500, totalling Rs 55,000. When Aniket tried to catch the accused, they stabbed him with a sharp weapon, injuring him. Assistant Police Inspector Jarhad from Chakan Police Station is investigating the case further.
