Sinhagad Road, 14th August 2024: The flyover at Rajaram Bridge Chowk on Sinhagad Road has been completed, with the final layer of asphalt recently laid. The project faced criticism for not being inaugurated sooner. However, the inauguration is now scheduled, with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar set to inaugurate the flyover tomorrow at 7 AM.

This new flyover is expected to alleviate traffic congestion on Sinhagad Road. It was constructed to address traffic jams between Rajaram Bridge and Fun Time Multiplex. The completion of the flyover bridge at Rajaram Bridge Chowk comes after a delay caused by continuous rain over the past two weeks. Wet gravel led to the asphalt work being halted, as laying a 50 mm layer of asphalt in the rain can damage the road and cause potholes. The delay prompted criticism of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

There was also a push from the Nationalist Congress Sharad Chandra Pawar Party (NCP-SP) to open the flyover to traffic sooner, but it remained closed. Now, with the inauguration set, it is anticipated that the citizens of Sinhagad Road will benefit from reduced traffic congestion.
