Pune: Sindhi Community To Celebrate Cheti Chand On April 2

Pune/Pimpri, 28th March 2022: Cheti Chand, a Sindhi new year and 1072th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Sai Jhulelal will be celebrated on Saturday, 2nd April 2022, informed by Suresh Jethwani and Deepak Wadhavani, past president of Sindhu Seva Dal (SSD) in the press conference.

 

 

Sachin Talreja, Secretary of SSD & Kiran Ferwani, PRO of SSD were present on the occasion.

 

 

Sindhu Seva Dal is a non-political, social and cultural organisation for Sindhis living in Pune and its outskirts formed about 34 years back. It aims to provide a better social and cultural platform that provides an opportunity for the Sindhi community living in Pune to utilize their expertise, experience and skill, for building up a prosperous Sindhi community through advocacy and capacity building to make the Sindhi community self-sufficient, mentioned Suresh Jethwani.

 

 

“We strive to provide a platform to promote Sindhi culture and language and preserve Sindhi heritage and also to promote awareness of social problems of Sindhi community. Every year we celebrate Cheti Chand (Sindhi New Year) on a grand scale where about 4000 Sindhi gather for this cultural extravaganza. This year we are celebrating on Saturday 2nd April 2022 at Alp Bachat Bhawan, Queens Garden Road, near Residency Club in Pune which will be followed by Preeti Bhoj for all devotees”, he added.

 

 

Deepak Wadhwani said, “The programme will start with the pooja of our kuldevta Sai Jhulelal. Mohit Shewani along with Galaxy of Stars (Manjushree Asudani, Shubham Nathani, Ashok Sundrani, and Karan Khemani) will entertain the crowd. For the young generation, dance will be performed by the GND group. The whole programme will be conducted by Mohit Shewani of Bhopal to be known as Sindhi’s Kapil Sharma. Peter Dalwani, President of SSD, Rajeev Krishnani & Parmanand Jamtani & other dignitaries will be present at the occasion. Sindhi prominent personalities will be honoured.”
