Pune: Shweta Association Organizes Public Meeting and 57th Bridal Gathering for People with Vitiligo

Pune, 7th December 2023: Shweta Association, a Pune-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals with white spots (Vitiligo) on the skin, is set to host a significant event on December 17, 2023. The gathering, which includes a public meeting and the 57th Bridal Gathering, will take place at Dr. Nitu Mandke IMA House, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Sahitya Academy award-winning writer and translator Sonali Nawangul, and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne will be the chief guests for the event.

The program’s agenda includes the distribution of prizes for an essay competition organized by the Shweta Association, the honouring of dignitaries, and the bridal gathering. The event aims to bring together individuals affected by white spots, providing them with a platform for awareness, celebration, and support.

Established in 2001 by Dr Maya Tulpule, ‘Shweta Association’ has dedicated 22 years to assisting individuals with Vitiligo. The organization actively engages in various initiatives, including public meetings, bridal gatherings, counselling sessions, affordable UVA/UVB and Excimer Laser therapy for treating Vitiligo, makeup training, and the publication of ‘Rang Manache,’ a magazine designed to raise awareness about vitiligo and related conditions.

Over the years, the Shweta Association’s efforts have led to the marriage of around 1,400 boys and girls with white spots through the bridal gatherings organized across Maharashtra. The organization has garnered a community of approximately 3,500 individuals across the state, emphasizing the positive impact it has had on people’s lives.

Shweta Association extends an invitation to the public, urging as many people as possible to participate in the program scheduled for December 17.
