Pune: Shop Owner Assaulted After Requesting Group to Stop Creating Disturbance Outside His Store in Wagholi
Wagholi, 8th September 2024: A shop owner in the Wagholi area was assaulted late Friday night after asking a group of youths to stop causing a disturbance outside his medical store. The incident took place at around 12:30 a.m. near Kesnand Phata, where four individuals verbally abused and pushed the owner inside his store after being told not to make a mess.
The victim, Gajanan Kolpe, was attending to his P&K Drug Store when he noticed the group creating a nuisance outside. Kolpe asked the youths to stop the commotion, but in response, the group entered his shop, began abusing him, and physically assaulted him. They also threatened to vandalize his medical store before leaving the scene on a motorcycle. The attackers were unknown to Kolpe, and their actions were captured on CCTV footage from the store.
A case has been registered at the Lonikand Police Station, and authorities are investigating the matter. Police are currently reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the assailants.
