Maval, 4th May 2024: A shocking incident took place in Kanhe when unknown assailants carried out an acid attack on a country cow tethered in the cowshed belonging to renowned bullock cart race competitor, Tushar Satkar. The cow sustained serious injuries in the assault, which came to light in the early hours of Wednesday (1st May).

Reports indicate that Satkar, a resident of Kanhe, keeps 10 buffaloes, one country cow, and four racing bulls in his shed. The cow, however, is kept separately in the front section of the cowshed. On Wednesday morning, as Satkar proceeded to the cowshed for milking, he noticed smoke coming out from the area. Disturbed by the sight, he investigated further, only to discover that his cow had been severely burnt. An unidentified individual had maliciously poured acid on the cow’s stomach and legs, causing significant harm. The injured cow is currently undergoing treatment.

Tushar Satkar, known for his prowess in bullock cart racing with four pairs of racing bulls, is now grappling with suspicions regarding the motive behind the attack. The brutal assault on the cow, revered as a deity in Hinduism, has sparked outrage in the community, questioning whether the intended target was the cow itself or the racing bulls.
