Pune: Shivajinagar Police Station Recovers 51 Lost Mobile Phones Worth Rs 9.5 lakh

Shivajinagar, 24th April 2023: In a successful operation, the Cyber Team of Shivajinagar Police Station, Pune City Police, has managed to recover 51 lost mobile phones of various brands from several states across India, worth a total of Rs 9.5 lakh.

The team, consisting of API Bajirao Naik and constables Rupesh Waghmare, Adesh Chalawadi, and Ruchika Jamdade, prepared data of lost mobiles within the Shivajinagar police station limits, and traced them technically by investigating and repeatedly following up on their locations in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab, and Maharashtra.

With the help of Adesh Chalawadi’s multilingual skills in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, English, and Marathi, the team successfully communicated with the users of the mobile phones in various languages and managed to recover all 51 devices. The complainants expressed their gratitude to the police for their hard work in recovering his lost mobile phone.

The Pune Police website allows for immediate online reporting of lost mobile phones, and an appeal has been made to the public to register their complaints on the portal Central Equipment Identity Register(CEIR).

The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Rajendra Dahale, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Sandipsingh Gill, and ACP (Vishrambaug division) Gajanan Tompe.

The team included Senior Police Inspector Arvid Mane, Inspector (Crime) Vikram Goud, API Bajirao Naik, and police personnel Rupesh Waghmare, Ganpat Valkoli, Adesh Chalwadi, Tukaram Mhaske, Arjun Kudalkar, and Ruchika Jamdade.
