Pune: Shivajinagar Police Inspector, API Suspended After Viral Video Exposes Late Night Party at L3 Liquid Leisure Lounge Club

Shivajinagar, 24th June 2024: Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol announced the suspension of a police inspector after a viral video exposed a late-night party involving drug consumption at L3 pub on FC Road.

MP Mohol tweeted, “In the case of a viral video of drug consumption at a party at L3 pub on FC Road in Pune, major action has been taken. The police inspector (crime) and an assistant police inspector of Shivajinagar police station, under whose jurisdiction the incident took place, have been suspended.”

While the suspensions are immediate, the Police Commissioner has been instructed to assign separate manpower to conduct an independent anti-drug campaign throughout the city. Mohol emphasized that all colleges, pubs, hostels, and suspicious locations should be searched immediately, with strict action taken where necessary. “Instructions have also been given that an effective campaign should be started to get to the root of how drugs are available in Pune city,” he added.

Punekar News reported on viral videos showing youths partying until 4:30 AM on Sunday. The videos also depicted drug consumption. In response, the police sealed the pub and arrested the accused in connection with the case.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, while speaking to Punekar News, stated, “Eight accused have been arrested, and four policemen, including two officers (Crime PI and API who were on night duty), have been suspended. Pune police are taking strict action against the establishment (L3) involved in this case. We are investigating the drug angle. Pune Police has zero tolerance for illegal activities.”
