Pimpri Chinchwad, 25th June 2024: Tensions are rising in Pimpri Chinchwad as another party has entered the fray to contest the Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Bhosari constituencies in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. Internal conflicts within the Mahayuti alliance are apparent, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and the Republican Party of India – Athawale (RPI) all laying claim to Pimpri seats. Now, tensions within the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance are also imminent. The Sharad Pawar-led NCP has been interested from the start, but now the Shiv Sena (UBT) has also made claims for the Pimpri constituency. Sachin Bhosale, the Pimpri Chinchwad City President of Shiv Sena (UBT), has asserted that Shiv Sena has significant influence in Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Bhosari, and he is interested in contesting from Pimpri.

A meeting was held by Shiv Sena (UBT). After the meeting, City President Sachin Bhosale spoke to the media. He said, “The meeting was held under the instructions of Party Chief Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut. We discussed which seats to contest in the upcoming elections. Ideas were exchanged regarding the Pimpri, Chinchwad, and Bhosari seats, as our party has significant influence in all three. The office bearers demand that these seats should be reserved for our party. Officials and workers will submit their claims to the party leadership. We can contest all three assemblies, but in the end, the party leadership will decide who will contest where.”

Concluding his statement, Bhosale said, “The activists of Shiv Sena are active in the Pimpri constituency. They work with strength. Shiv Sainiks have been MLAs from there before. That’s our rightful seat, and we demand it be given to us. I am interested in contesting from Pimpri. In the coming time, you will see a Shiv Sena MLA in Pimpri. All the Shiv Sainiks reached the grassroots during the Lok Sabha elections. Our Shiv Sainiks know how much work other leaders and officials of Mahavikas Aghadi were doing. We will convey that information to the party chief.”
