Pune: Serious Problem Of Water In Chikhli; If Problem Is Not Solved, We Will Start Our Protest: Vikas Sane
Pimpri, 10th March 2023: Pimpri-Chinchwad city has been getting water supply alternate days for 3.5 years. Therefore, all the resident societies in Chikhli, including Durganagar, Patil Nagar, Shelar Vasti, and Chikhli Gaonthan, are facing water problems. With the signs of summer beginning now, the water problem has become serious in the Chikhli area, and against this, a rally was organized at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) under the leadership of Vikas Sane of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), founder and president of Vikasbhau Sane Social Foundation.
There was a large participation of women in this march. Vikas Sane stated Ramnath Takle, Executive Engineer of the Water Supply Department. It has also warned of strong agitation if the water supply in the Chikhli area does not start regularly.
Vikas Sane said that the water problem of all residential societies in Chikhli including Durganagar, Patil Nagar, Shelar Vasti, and Chikhli is getting very bad. The city has been getting water supply on alternative days for 3.3 years. At the same time, there is an insufficient and low-pressure water supply in the Chikhli area.
If the summer heats up, the water problem is likely to worsen. Therefore, the municipal administration should take serious notice of this immediately. Also, employees who have been working in muddy areas for 10 to 15 years have been transferred to the Water Supply Department. A lack of coordination among the new employees is seen. This is also affecting the water supply. Vikas has demanded that the water problem of the citizens should be solved immediately.
