Pune : Senior Citizen Dies After Hit By PMPML Bus, Driver Booked
Pune 13th Sept 2023: In a tragic incident reported in the city on Monday, a 65-year-old person died after he was hit by a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus. The incident was reported near Seven Loves Chowk on the Shankar Seth Road at around 8:10 pm. The police have booked the driver in the matter.
According to the complaint registered at Khadak Police Station in the matter, the deceased identified as Vasant Pukhraj Jain (65), a resident of Gultekdi area was riding his scooter at the time of incident when he was hit by a PMPML bus. Jain sustained serious injuries in the incident and he was rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, the doctors declared him dead.
The police have booked a PMPML driver under sections 279 and 304 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections 184 and 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
