Bibwewadi, 20th August 2024: In a surprising incident, a senior citizen in Pune has been arrested for attacking a youth with a knife. The accused and the victim, who were acquainted and had a history of animosity, were involved in the altercation that took place in Lower Indira Nagar, Bibwewadi, on August 17 at 5:30 PM.

Kartikesh Dashrath Rane, 23, a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, filed a complaint at the Bibwewadi Police Station after being injured in the attack. The police have since arrested Satish Murlidhar Dhole, 60, also a resident of Kondhwa Budruk. A case has been registered against Dhole under Sections 109 of the BNS and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951.

According to police reports, the incident occurred near the Shani Temple in Bibwewadi, where Kartikesh Rane operates a puja material shop. Both the accused and the complainant reside in the same society in Kondhwa. The two had previously clashed during the Diwali festival last year over a minor dispute. On August 17, at around 5:30 PM, Dhole allegedly approached Rane at his shop and confronted him, asking, “Are you coming to beat me?” before attacking him with a knife. Rane managed to defend himself, but sustained injuries to his fingers in the process. Police Sub-Inspector Ashok Yewale of the Bibwewadi Police Station is currently investigating the case further.
