Pune: Senior Actress Smita Jaykar Highlights the Vital Role of Backstage Artists in the Film Industry’s Success

Pune, 7th November 2023: Renowned senior actress Smita Jaykar expressed that in the field of arts, it’s the backstage artists who make the film industry successful. She emphasized that while their work often goes unnoticed, the entire industry thrives because of their contributions. Smita Jaykar’s thoughts on the significance of backstage artists were shared at the third anniversary celebration of the “All Artist Foundation, Maharashtra.”

During the anniversary event held today (November 7), the organization recognized and honored individuals who have made exceptional contributions in various fields of the arts. Deepak Mankar, the city president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), presented the awards to the deserving recipients.

Smita Jaykar, a distinguished senior actress, received the “Gratitude Award” for her remarkable contributions to the film industry. She pointed out that it’s not just actors but all backstage artists who make the industry flourish, and their efforts are often not fully acknowledged. She encouraged everyone to appreciate and recognize the vital role played by these artists.

The event also honored other prominent artists. Renowned tabla player Pt. Raju Javalkar received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his exceptional contributions to the world of music. Choreographer Fulwa Khamkar was recognized for her contributions to the field of dance, and awards were presented to various artists in different artistic categories.

Speaking on the occasion, Smita Jaykar said that the film industry wouldn’t be what it is without the contributions of backstage artists. She urged people to start acknowledging their work and to show gratitude for their invaluable contributions.

The “Singing Star of Pune” competition was also held as part of the event, and awards were distributed to the winners. The event was organized by Abhay Gokhale and Dhanashree Kulkarni, and gratitude was expressed to Rituja Marathe.
