Pune: School Issues Leaving Certificate To Student For Not Paying Fees, Child Commission Orders Enquiry

Pune, 28th May 2021: A complaint has been lodged against Walnut School at Fursungi and Shivane for sending a leaving certificate (LC) to a student for failing to pay the school fees. According to the complainant, this was against the violation of Section 16 and 17 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Act 2009.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) received the complaint which has been forwarded to the Deputy Director of Education for further action. NCPCR has taken the action after the factual consultation with the complainant.

NCPCR has requested the deputy director office to investigate the matter and issue appropriate directions for ascertaining the facts and take needful actions. Similarly, it mentioned that the name and identity of the complainant/child must not be disclosed under any circumstances, said Raman Gaur, senior consultant, NCPCR.
