Pune: Sales Executive Dies After Falling from Under-Construction Building in Wakad; Case Registered With Hinjawadi Police
Hinjawadi, 20th March 2024: A sales executive met his untimely demise, falling from the sixth floor of an under-construction building while showcasing apartments to potential customers. The incident unfolded on December 23, 2023, within the premises of Nisarga Belarus Society in Wakad.
The victim is identified as Ashish Zaveri, aged 43, the deceased’s wife took action by complaining at Hinjawadi Police Station on March 19, 2024. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the contractor, Guddu Kasanu Pawar, aged 40 and residing in Hinjawadi, along with the head of the sales department, Abhishek Abhay Devane, aged 26 and a resident of Wakad.
According to law enforcement authorities, construction activities were in progress at the Nisarga Belarus Society building in Wakad, where Ashish served as a sales executive. On the fateful day, he accompanied a client to view a flat. While demonstrating flats on the sixth floor, Ashish lost his footing and plunged into the lift shaft.
The complainant argues that this incident underscores negligence on the part of the construction contractor and the sales department head regarding worker safety at the construction site. Hinjawadi Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
