Pune: Ruby Hall Clinic Inaugurates First CATH LAB in Shirur Taluka

Shirur, 26th September 2024: Ruby Hall Clinic is proud to announce the successful inauguration of its first CATH LAB in Shirur Taluka. The state-of-the-art facility, launched on 26th September 2024 at the Matoshree Madanbai Dhariwal Hospital’s Cardiac Centre, is a result of a collaborative effort between Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL)—a joint venture between Tata Motors and Stellantis—and the Grant Medical Foundation (Ruby Hall Clinic).

This milestone represents a significant step forward in making advanced cardiac care accessible to the people of Shirur Taluka, while also promoting preventive health practices in the region. A notable highlight of the launch was the first-ever Coronary Angiogram (CAG) performed in Shirur, marking a major achievement for the local community.

Prior to the inauguration of the CATH LAB, residents of Shirur Taluka faced significant challenges in accessing advanced cardiac care. Patients requiring urgent heart procedures, such as angiograms, angioplasties, or the implantation of pacemakers, had to travel long distance to Pune or other cities, often delaying critical treatments and increasing health risks.

The absence of local facilities not only created logistical and financial burden but also hindered timely interventions, which are crucial for better health outcomes in cardiac emergencies. Now, with the establishment of this specialized facility equipped for various diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, patients in Shirur Taluka can receive life-saving care closer to home, improving recovery time and reducing associated risks.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Rakesh Baweja, Senior Vice President, Fiat India Automobiles Pvt Ltd, and Dr. Simon Grant, Physician and Trustee of Ruby Hall Clinic. Present on this significant occasion were Behram Khodaiji, CEO, Ruby Hall Clinic; Dr. C N Makhale, Interventional Cardiologist, Ruby Hall Clinic; Natalie Grant- Nanda (GM – Strategy and Business Development) and Dr. Harshal Ingale, Cardiologist.  The event was attended by local healthcare professionals, community members, and local media, highlighting the importance of this cutting-edge facility for the region.
