Pune: RTO Proposes Share Auto Rickshaw Service To Connect Metro Stations, Holds Meeting With Auto Unions
Pune 4th August 2023: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Pune has proposed to start share auto rickshaw service to connect metro stations with other parts of the city A meeting in this regard was held with the members of the Auto Rickshaw unions by the RTO officials.
According to reports, some members of auto runions of the city have agreed to join hands with RTO in this initiative while some have opposed it. The RTO officials have appealed the auto union members to participate in the survey that will be conducted check routes around metro stations to start this service.
The initiative aims to provide connectivity for commuters to reach their destinations from metro stations. Earlier, PMPML has also started feeder bus service from metro stations of the extended routes.
According to RTO officials, a final proposal will be prepared after discussion with the traffic police and Maha Metro if the auto unions agree to extend their participation. The final proposal will be kept before the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) for final approval.
