Pune, 29th June 2024: Complaints regarding refusal of entry, overcharging, and other issues by auto-rickshaws, cabs, or buses will now be addressed more swiftly. With passenger grievances increasing daily, the Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has taken proactive steps to resolve these issues. Passengers can now lodge complaints directly via a WhatsApp helpline number, with the RTO ensuring prompt action.

Commuters frequently report incidents of auto-rickshaw drivers refusing fares within Pune city. Additionally, many drivers decline short-distance fares or demand fares higher than the metered rate. Some rickshaw drivers deceive passengers by quoting inflated prices instead of using the meter. Similar complaints are also raised against cab and private bus drivers. Such complaints have seen a recent rise.

To streamline this process, the RTO has introduced a WhatsApp helpline number 8275330101 for easy complaint registration. RTO officials will promptly investigate complaints lodged on this number against drivers found violating regulations. Immediate action will be taken against those found guilty, thereby expediting the resolution of complaints through this WhatsApp helpline.
