Pune: Rs 27 Lakh Cash Seized From Accused During Betting on Gujarat Titan vs Delhi Capital IPL Cricket Match
Pimpri, 3rd April 2022: Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches are being played at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Gahunje, Pune. The match between Gujarat Titan and Delhi Capital was played on Saturday.
The anti-gunda squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad police Crime Branch on Saturday night nabbed three persons who were betting on the match. Police have seized eight mobile phones and Rs 27 lakh cash from the accused. The operation was carried out at around 7.30 pm.
The arrested accused are Sunny alias Bhupendra Charan Singh Gill, Rikki Rajesh Khemchand, Subhash Ramkisan Agarwal and police are searching for Sunny Sukheja, said assistant police inspector Harish Mane. Police officer Hazrat Ali Pathan has lodged a complaint in this regard.
According to police, the squad had received information about the betting on the first floor of the Vaibhav Paradise building in Pimpri. Accordingly, Mane and his team raided the first floor of the building and arrested the accused. It turned out that they were all betting on a cricket match. Rs 27 lakh cash and eight mobile phones were seized from them.
