Pune, January 4, 2021: A fine of Rs. 1,48,444 has been recovered from the fruit section of the market yard during the year. The action has been taken against those who sell agricultural commodities 15 feet from the shops, unauthorized vendors, vehicles obstructing traffic and those who do not wear masks.

Balasaheb Konde, group head of the fruit department, has taken this action under the guidance of department head Babasaheb Bibve.

The action has been taken from November 1, 2019, to December 31, 2020. This action had been taken on behalf of the Market Committee to bring discipline in the market. Vendors are prohibited from selling fruit outside 15 feet from the shops. Yet some vendors go beyond 15 feet and sell their produce. Some vehicles are parked anywhere which causes traffic. Such vehicles were penalized.

Some sellers who were unauthorized were also punished. To avoid the spread of the Coronavirus, it is essential to wear a mask. Therefore, the market committee administration takes action against the people who don’t wear masks. Apart from this, the police also levied fines on the citizens and drivers for not having a driving license. Balasaheb Konde said that similar action is being taken in the fruit department as well.
