Pune Residents Unite To Raise Awareness About The Dangers Of Noise Pollution In Kalyani Nagar

Kalyani Nagar, 8th April 2023: Pune will see a noise awareness event conducted by Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN) on 19th April. The event will take place at 4 pm in Joggers Park Library, Kalyani Nagar and is expected to have a large turnout of residents from Pune.

The event is being conducted with the participation of various concerned authorities, such as the police, traffic police, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), doctors and residents of Pune. The aim of the event is to spread awareness about the health hazards of noise pollution in the community, in the backdrop of International Noise Awareness Day.

The city of Pune has been facing a rising problem of noise pollution, which can cause health hazards like anxiety, stress, sleep deprivation, and impact heart rate and blood pressure. It affects people of all age groups, including kids, adults, and senior citizens. The most prominent sources of noise pollution are loud music and traffic honking. Noise pollution can also lead to temporary hearing loss which is irreversible and can cause premature delivery and underweight babies, affecting their growth and ability to read and write.

The event has garnered support from residents of Kalyani Nagar, Wadgaonsheri, Koregaon Park, Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Baner, NIBM and other areas across Pune, who are participating in large numbers to make the event a grand success.

Team Swachh has also urged all citizens of Pune and environmentalists to join the event and raise awareness about the health hazards of noise pollution. The participation of the concerned authorities is expected to lend more weight to the message of the event.
