Wadgaon Budruk, 31st March 2024: A case has been registered against Chaitanya Shrikant Naik of Wadgaon Budruk for alleged cheating by submitting fake documents to obtain an 18 lakh rupee loan from a bank for purchasing a high-end car.

The bank manager has filed a complaint with Sinhagad Road Police Station, Pune City Police.

Naik purportedly presented a loan application at the Vidya Sahakari Bank Ltd branch on Sinhagad Road on behalf of a car dealership to finance the purchase of an expensive vehicle. Seeking a loan of Rs 18.4 lakh, Naik was granted 18 lakh rupees by the bank for the car purchase.

Naik allegedly opened a fictitious account in a false name at an ICICI Bank branch in Kalyani Nagar and deposited the sanctioned loan amount. A fabricated receipt was then submitted to the bank under the guise of a transaction with Sky Moto Automobiles Pvt Ltd. However, Naik failed to fulfil the terms of the contract by not purchasing the vehicle.

In her complaint, bank manager stated that Naik deceived bank officials by presenting an unregistered vehicle to the Pune Regional Transport Office.
