Pune: Republic Day Celebration Immerses New Grace English School and Jamaluddin Maqbool Junior College in Patriotism

Kondhwa, 31st January 2024: New Grace English School and Jamaluddin Maqbool Junior College witnessed a vibrant celebration of Republic Day, immersing themselves in a sea of tricolour with fervour and enthusiasm. The school grounds resonated with patriotic songs, speeches, diverse cultural activities, and more, creating an atmosphere steeped in national pride.

The day commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by Chief Guest Khan Nazeer Ahmed Mhamood (Retired Deputy Superintendent of Police), accompanied by Guest of Honors Noor Abeda (Sr. Manager at IDBI Bank), Arif Khan (Retired Defence Personnel), Muneer Khan (Career Counsellor), Ila Dalwai (President, Hamid Dalwai Institute, Pune), Chairman Zakiuddin Shaikh, and Principal Fareha Sayed, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem.

Students, adorned in traditional attire, showcased their talents through various performances, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.

The centerpiece of the event was the meticulously organized parade, led by school students and adorned with the colors of the national flag. Students, dressed in their school uniforms, marched with discipline and precision, symbolizing unity.

As part of the celebrations, the school hosted a series of events, including a Miniature Model Exhibition, a vibrant pyramid performance, a captivating drill by Grace Kids, speeches in different languages – Hindi, Marathi, English, and Arabic, and a thrilling performance titled ‘Stellar Odyssey: A Theatrical Tribute of ISRO’s Space Saga.’ These activities aimed to instill a deeper understanding of the significance of Republic Day and the democratic ethos that defines our nation.

Chief Guest Khan Nazeer Ahmed Mhamood expressed gratitude towards the school community, emphasizing the importance of education that leads to the pinnacle of dignity. Guest of Honor Arif Khan shared insightful notions about time, while Guest of Honor Muneer Khan addressed students with valuable ideologies, emphasizing the importance of the Marathi language and encouraging self-reflection with the question, “Who am I? And I am the best.” Guest of Honor Noor Abeda inspired students by sharing her own educational journey, providing a heartfelt tribute to the ideals that form the bedrock of our great nation.

In a special felicitation, nine students from other schools were recognized for their hard work and dedication. The Welfare Association of Youth, an NGO, gifted them bicycles and a cash prize from Chairman Zakiuddin Shaikh.

The grand celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Chairman Zakiuddin Shaikh and the distribution of sweets by the Chief Guest.
