Pune received moderate rains in the last two days due to cyclone Tauktae

Pune, 17th May 2021: The city experiencing moderate rains with gusty winds for the last two days due to a cyclone Tuktae.

The cyclone formed in the Arabian Sea presently is moving north-westwards at the speed of 19 kmph. It is very likely to intensify further during the next 24 hours. The cyclonic storm likely to cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar & Mahuva (Bhavnagar district) around 18 May early morning, mentioned IMD forecast.

Meanwhile, due to the impact of this cyclonic storm moving close to the coast of Maharashtra. Many districts in the state including Pune received rainfall in the last two days.

In Pune, the rainfall recorded, 8.2 mm in Shivajinagar, 6.2 mm in Lohgaon and 9.9 in Pashan. The city will experience cloudy weather and light to moderate rains for the next 24 hours, said an official from IMD Pune.
