Pune, 6th September 2023: The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company’s Rastapeth GIS 132 KV Extra High Voltage Substation is scheduled to temporarily close for essential maintenance and repairs, starting from 1 pm on Saturday, 9th September, until 12 pm on Monday, 11th September. Fortunately, there will be no adverse impact on the power supply, as alternative arrangements have been made for this period.

This ultra-high voltage substation, operated by Mahatransco, provides electricity to the Rastapeth, Parvati, and Padmavati divisions through a network of 21 power lines—11 of 22 KV and 10 of 11 KV, managed by MSEDCL. Given the festive season and inclement weather conditions, it has become imperative to conduct repairs on certain systems within this substation to ensure seamless power supply. Consequently, maintenance work will take place from the 9th to the 11th of September.

During this brief interval, electricity will be supplied to all 21 channels through an alternative arrangement involving the management of 97 megawatts of electricity from both MSEDCL and Mahatransco. To achieve this, power will be routed alternately from the 220 KV Parvati, Fursungi, and Khadki substations, as well as the 132 KV Fursungi and Mundhwa high voltage substations.

The technical planning for the alternative power supply has been meticulously completed, and maintenance and repair work on related power lines and systems have already been concluded. However, in the event of a failure in a 22 KV or 11 KV power line during this period, an alternative power source may not be readily available, potentially leading to a power outage in the affected area. Any such incidents will be promptly communicated to the affected electricity consumers via SMS.
