Pune: Rajgurunagar Municipal Council CEO Among Three Officers Caught In Bribery Scandal

Rajgurunagar, 13th September 2023: In a significant development, a government contractor in Pune has played a pivotal role in unveiling a bribery case implicating public servants in the Rajgurunagar Municipal Council, Khed. 

The complainant, a 29-year-old male, had the courage to report the alleged misconduct, leading to the arrest of three accused public servants:

  1. Mrs. Charubla Rajendra Harde, aged 31, holding the position of Engineer in the Health Department (Class-3), Rajgurunagar Municipal Council, Khed, Pune.
  2. Praveen Ganpat Kapse, aged 35, serving as an Accountant (Class 3) in the Rajgurunagar Municipal Parishad, Khed, Pune.
  3. Shrikant Annasaheb Lalge, aged 35, occupying the role of CEO (Class 2) in the Rajgurunagar Municipal Council, Khed, Pune.

The alleged bribe demand amounted to Rs 8000, which was subsequently accepted by the accused public servants. The incident came to light on the 13th of September, 2023, during a trap operation conducted at the Rajgurunagar Municipal Council office in Khed, Pune. The complainant, a government contractor who had supplied materials to the municipal council and health department, submitted a bill for the services rendered. It is alleged that a bribe of Rs 8000 was demanded before the bill could be processed. Subsequently, the accused were apprehended in the act of accepting the bribe, and an FIR is in the process of being filed against them.
