Pune Railway Division Fined More Than 2 Lakh People For Not Having Tickets In Nine Months

Pune, 18th January 2023: During the ticket checking in the Pune Railway Division in the last nine months from April to December, more than 2,32,000 people were found traveling without tickets and more than 17,07,42,000 rupees were collected as fines.

More than 22,000 people were fined 1,27,24,000 rupees for traveling irregularly, while 2,73,000 rupees were collected as a fine from 2,234 people for carrying unbooked luggage.

The Pune Railway Division achieved the target record of Rs 12 crores in the first six months of the financial year.

The said action was taken by ticket-checking inspectors under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Indu Dubey and in coordination with Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Milind Hirve and Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Ramdas Bhise.

This type of ticket checking is being conducted regularly by the Railway Administration. The railways request passengers to travel with proper tickets, otherwise, they will have to pay fines under the Railway Act and might also be punished with jail.
