Pune: Railway Administration To Appoint Additional Ticket Supervisors; Action To Be Taken If Passengers Found Without Tickets
Pune, 20th May 2023: There has been an increase in the number of passengers travelling without taking tickets in local and DEMU. In this background, the railway administration has decided to appoint ticket supervisors in trains like local and DEMU. Now additional ticket supervisors will go around different trains and check the tickets of passengers. Penal action will be taken against passengers who do not have tickets.
Around 250 passenger trains run from Pune railway station every day. Ticket supervisors are often not appointed in trains as the number of ticket supervisors is less. Taking advantage of this, many passengers travel without tickets. Therefore, the railway administration has decided to appoint ticket supervisors only to the locals and DEMU.
Pune to Lonavala Local has 41 trips daily, while DEMU running between Pune to Daund and passenger running between Hadapsar and Solapur will also appoint ticket supervisors.
