Pune: Pub Vandalized After Drug Scandal Video Goes Viral in Pune
Shivajinagar, 24th June 2024 – Following the circulation of a viral video showing minors allegedly consuming drugs at L3 – The Liquid Leisure Lounge on Ferguson College (FC) Road in Pune’s Shivajinagar, activists from the Patit Pavan Sanghatana reacted aggressively today. They vandalized the pub by pelting stones, escalating demands for swift action from opposition party leaders in the state.
In response to the public outcry, Pune Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar took decisive steps, ordering the suspension of Police Inspector (Crime) Anil Mane, Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil, and two beat marshals from Shivajinagar Police Station. Simultaneously, the State Excise Department and Pune Police sealed L3 – The Liquid Leisure Lounge and arrested eight individuals, including Ravi Maheshwari, Utkarsh Deshmane, Yogendra Girase, Manas Malik, Akshay Kamthe, and three others implicated in the case. The police are also set to question the youths present at the party.
The incident underscores growing concerns over drug use among minors and the community’s demand for stringent law enforcement measures.
